ZIMMER'S HOLE Part Ways With Keyboardist
December 2, 2002ZIMMER'S HOLE, the Vancouver-based project featuring guitarist Jed Simon and bassist Byron Stroud of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, have parted ways with keyboardist Will Campagna, who "has left the band for other commitments," according to Simon. The band are currently seeking a replacement. In other news, ZIMMER'S HOLE have commenced the songwriting process for their next album, tentatively due in late 2003. "There are about 10 solid ideas down so far — we just need to start getting together and doin' what we do best...smokin' and thrashin'," said the guitarist. Simon is also preparing to enter the studio with TENET, his side project with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD/ex-DEATH drummer Gene Hoglan, ex-GRIP INC. bassist Stuart Carruthers, and former SACRIFICE/current INTERZONE frontman Rob Urbinati. The group, who are signed to Hamburg, Germany's Virusworx Records, are tentatively scheduled to begin recording the CD at the end of December with producer/SYL mainman Devin Townsend for a May 2003 release. "After all the years with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and the futuristic industrial influences I want to make a brutal, real metal album without keyboards," said Simon about what the fans can expect to hear on the upcoming album. "Stay tuned for a pure thrash metal album with extreme riffs and one of the best metal singers in the world!"
